The Tesla Cybertruck is real, and it is a car as innovative and different from anything we have seen as we hoped for.
Prices will start competitive, at least in the simplest single-engine version: $39,900.
The available versions will be the following:
- Single engine with 250 miles of autonomy, capable of towing 7,500 lb. From 0-60 miles in 6.5 seconds, for $ 39,900.
- Double engine with 300 miles of autonomy, capable of towing 10,000 lb. From 0-100 miles in 4.5 seconds, for $ 49,900.
- Triple engine with 500 miles of autonomy, capable of towing 14,000 lb. From 0-100 miles in 2.9 seconds, for $ 69,900.
There were high expectations placed on the new Tesla release, especially for being a model that was so far from its current models.
The goal with the Cybertruck is to attract shoppers who want to get away from the city and work or experiment outdoors.
Tesla could have taken a Model Y, raised the suspension and called it “off-road”.
But, that would have been way too easy for Elon Musk.
The car he unveiled recently is the freshest, powerful and more straightforward than any manufacturer in the industry has unveiled in recent decades.

The Tesla Cybertruck is a pickup, which may not come as a surprise for many. It is the most popular type of vehicle in the US.
Getting into this market, normally dominated by large diesel engines, is risky; that’s why they couldn’t help themselves.
